Crystal Lake Community Information

The Crystal Lake Park District operates approximately 1,000 acres of parks and programs with plans to expand in the future. Parks in and around the city include Chain O?Lakes State Park, Moraine Hills State Park and Volo Bog State Natural Area. These parks provide opportunities for outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, camping, horseback riding and picnicking. Other facilities available to residents include several nature preserves, the Golf Learning Center, the Racket Club tennis center, the Nature Center wildlife and plant facility and many more.

Seasonal activities keep life exciting in Crystal Lake. Don?t miss the annual America?s Cardboard Cup Regatta during the last week of June! This event takes place on Main Beach and brings thousands of spectators out to watch teams race their cardboard boats. The awards range from the Most Spectacular Sinking Award to the Most Enthusiastic Crew. This race is colorful and one that is not easy to forget. The Lakeside Festival at the Historic Dole Mansion is also something you won?t want to miss. The festival has carnival rides and games for kids of all ages, plenty of food, live music and more.
